Terms and conditions

Any booking with Mr Pop’s balloons is subject to the following terms and conditions. Throughout these terms and conditions:

Mr Pop: Refers to Craig Milne/Mr Pop’s balloons – the service supplier

The client: Refers to the person, group or organisation booking Mr Pop

Guests: The people attending the client’s party or event who will receive balloon models

  1. The service Mr Pop will provide:

1.1 Mr Pop’s Balloons provides balloon modelling services, working 1 to 1 interactively with each guest.  It is not a stage show for an audience to watch.

1.2 Mr Pop’s Balloons will adjust the complexity of balloon animal designs to best suit the number of guests and the length of the queue.   This is why Mr Pop may ask the client for anticipated guest numbers, so he may advise the client on the type of balloon models it is realistic to produce.

1.3 The client is responsible for telling Mr Pop if there is a specific number of guests who must receive a balloon animal (hereon referred to as “the target”), or if the goal is to achieve a particular rate per hour.   Mr Pop will then advise on the appropriate duration of booking to achieve the target.   Mr Pop will advise if the client’s event is of a scale that it is unlikely to be feasible to make everyone a balloon.

1.4 Guests will be able to choose a balloon model from a picture menu of designs suitable for that number of guests in the given time.   Where possible Mr Pop will take requests, but only if this does not put the target at risk.

1.5 The client is responsible for telling Mr Pop before the event if they require Mr Pop to make balloon models in a specific way.  For example, only on a particular theme, or using specific colours.  Mr Pop will estimate how many can be made per hour in this way.

1.6 Workshops are events where Mr Pop will show guests how to make balloon animals, and organise some balloon games.  Time can be added to the end if you’d like Mr Pop to make more elaborate balloon animals for workshop attendees.

1.7 If the client has their own terms and conditions applicable to the booking, they must inform Mr Pop.

2. At the event:

2.1 Mr Pop’s balloons uses 100% latex balloons.  This is stated on picture menus.

2.2 Balloon modelling can take place indoors or outdoors.   However, balloon modelling is not possible in the rain or strong wind.  In such conditions the client is responsible for providing a suitable location indoors.

2.3 Mr Pop can bring a gazebo.  Mr Pop will confirm if there is a £20 charge for this to cover the time and assistance required to setup and take it down.

2.4 Mr Pop will arrive 15 to 30 minutes before the agreed start time for a party.  For larger events Mr Pop may arrive 30 to 60 minutes before the agreed start time to allow time to transport equipment to the location and setup.  All setup time is covered in the price.

2.5 At the client’s event Mr Pop will:

2.6 Make the balloon animal the guest asks for (this may be limited to choices from the menu – see above).

2.7 Use the guest’s choice of colours where specified

2.8 Prioritise guests who have yet to receive a balloon model over guests returning for more.

2.9 At the client’s event Mr Pop will not:

2.10 Manage the behaviour of people in the queue.  Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children.

2.11 Serve people who have been rude, disruptive, or attempted to damage equipment

2.12 Show children how to make a balloon animal.  (There is not usually time for this whilst Mr Pop is working to a target number of guests.)

2.13 Make balloon animals for people who are not at the event (e.g. siblings at home) unless time allows

2.14 Mr Pop will make balloon animals for the agreed amount of time.  This may involve closing the queue earlier, to ensure modelling stops at the agreed time with no people left in the queue.

2.15 Mr Pop will leave the event if subjected to abuse by guests.   The full amount remains payable in these circumstances.

2.16 The client is responsible for telling Mr Pop if specific clothing is required.  If not, Mr Pop will normally wear a fun, colourful shirt or a smart shirt with waistcoat.

2.17 Mr Pop’s equipment is branded with the Mr Pop’s Balloons logo.  This can be covered if required for your event.

2.18 The client can ask Mr Pop to work longer than planned.  Mr Pop will check for other bookings and confirm if that is possible, and the price to do so.

3. Bookings, payments

3.1 When booking the event, Mr Pop and the client will agree the time balloon modelling will start and finish.

3.2 Bookings are at least 1 hour, and will always be time based.  Mr Pop will help the client choose an appropriate duration for the number of guests expected.

3.3 Mr Pop will state when the booking is confirmed.

3.4 Mr Pop will state which events require a £30 non refundable deposit to secure the date.  This amount is not refundable if the event is cancelled.  If the client has paid in full ahead of the event, the balance beyond the £30 will be refunded.

3.5 The client will pay any balance within 7 calendar days of the event.

3.6 Mr Pop will provide bank transfer details for payments. A link to pay securely by card can be provided if requested by the client.

4. Cancellation

4.1 If Mr Pop has to cancel a booking, he will notify the client and make every effort to find an alternative balloon modeller, although this may not always be possible.

4.2 If the client cancels a booking on the day of the event, the full amount will be payable.

4.3 If the client cancels a booking before the day of the event, the £30 non refundable deposit will be kept, but Mr Pop will refund any balance beyond this.
